Since my SKINS post I thought i talk about my morning skincare routine. Reading the article you will be overwhelmed by the series of step and wonder how does this steps come about, just to inform you dear readers, I follow the most coveted Korean 10 step skincare routine.
I’m neither a dermatologist nor a salesperson that work in any skincare outlets but i do care about my skin and what i put/apply on it. I’ve followed many beauty gurus and read loads of product review through sites and YouTube Vids before i buy a single skincare product.
Step 1: Cleanser
To start your day routine right, i begin by using a water based cleanser.
You might wonder “why clean my face in the morning? i wasn’t dirty when i went to sleep yesterday.” True, saying this question is the same as: “why should i brush my teeth in the morning? i didn’t eat anything when to sleep”.
Get where I’m going with this?
Just like brushing your teeth, we should wash our face because when we sleep through the night, bacteria builds up and clogs pores which could lead to breakouts.
This drugstore face wash is the best, its effective due to the Salicylic Acid that prevents ance and reduce redness in the face and beating other high-end product it’s cheap.
Step 2: Toner
By put a small amount (10 cent size) into my hand and (lightly) tap the product into my face till it dry. Bare in mind DO NOT RUB the product into the face, what rubbing to the face does is causing it to be red. You don’t want to look red don’t you?
Step 3: Essence (optional)
This step might be confusing to some but you can skip this if you’re a beginner in trying the Korean 10 step routine. Putting it into basic “essence is a kind of toner and serum hybrid made for hydrating and aiding skin repair and cell turnover.” – Soko Glam. What makes this different and stands out into its own step, unlike Toner (that cleans away remaining residue that the cleanser didn’t pick up) it repairs your skin in a cellular level.
Literally an elixir of youth in a bottle: This miracle water essence is the most sought after products, it contains 80% Fermented Yeast Concentrate (saccharomyces ferment filtrate), which absorbs into skin instantly, repairing and nourishing on cellular level.
Step 4: Treatment- Serum
Treatments are they say what it is named, treating your face. Serums, Boosters, Ampoules are under this category.
This step could be customized to your skin problem that you want to treat either oily or ance prone problems to dry flaky skin problem to dilated pores or wrinkle to aging. It all depend to one’s choosing
It has a pump for easy dispensation and I could control the amount of product going out. Normally one pump would do the trick.Just like the same way how toner & essence is applied. Tap! Tap! Tap!
Always remember to give 5 – 10 mins of break between each step to allow skin to fully absorb product effectively. You also have to remember that as each step progresses the thicker and dense the product is.
Step 5: Moisturizer
Sealing all the products that you’ve applied previously and making sure it stays put in your face, moisturizer is needed. This also prevents your face from drying out throughout the day.
Moisturizers comes in many different forms and types, personally a gel type moisturizer works best in our warm environment and leave the cream moisturizer to the night-time routine which could be heavy to the face during the day.
This multi purpose mosturizing gel can be used as a facial pack, after sun-care when you have a sun burn and because it is a gel type you can apply this whenever throughout the day without feeling greasy.
Using just a small amount of product goes a long way it could cover the face and neck. I’ve bought mine in July 2015 and still haven’t finish it yet! I’m still going through just half of the tub.
what I also currently heard they are selling a new kind of soothing gel in The Face Shop and it’s a buy one free deal.
For a product that could last for almost a year with just half a tub for BND $9.90 it’s totally worth the buy. Out of all skincare product I’ve use The Aloe Soothing Gel is highly recommended. (if you are not allergic to aloe)
Step 6: Sun Protection
Did you know? Kiley Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian apply sun screen religiously, they even apply it on their hands because they are afraid of have sun spots.
Sun screen are used to protect you from UV Rays throughout the day, rain or shine. UV rays is the 90% cause of wrinkles and aging skin. It is also the cause of skin cancer and Sun screen is used to protect us from this.
Even if you think sun screen is only used when you’re in the beach or never applied it in your life. It’s time to use sun screen EVERYDAY EVERY MORNING. If the sun is up in the morning sun screen is needed, if it’s a rainy day and you think you’re safe, UV rays penetrates through clouds and stormy weather so apply sunscreen.
The only time where sun screen is not needed is night-time.
If there is any residue left in my hands I’ll apply it to my hands and arm and apply more to the rest of my body.
After applying the sunscreen i wait for 5 – 10 min before I go out then off I go to start my day.
To those who could only relate to just the first step: cleanse and is surprised by how may steps there is might think “wow this is a lot of work.” It might seem at first but personally, I see it as relaxing before I start my whole day.
Although My day skincare routine does not reach to the same number as the Korean 10 step routine but there’s more in store for the Night skincare routine.
Hope you guys are looking forward to my Night time skincare routine which I’ll be posting up soon.
